Homemade Meals 2 Go
HM2G

Homemade Meals 2 Go is a program operated by Jennifer Markow and Michelle Shipp. HM2G prepares meals for any senior living in Cornwall.
OUR STORY
Jen and Michelle are partners on the Cornwall Park and Recreation Commission and have been working together on Senior/Community Lunches and Breakfasts since 2022. Over that time we began to shop and prepare the meals ourselves versus have them catered. Doing it saved money and allowed for more control over the menu. It was a big hit with the community! Attendance at these community lunches and breakfasts has doubled since we started cooking and those attending always ask when we will open up our own restaurant. That idea doesn't appeal to us, but at lunch in May 2024 we were talking with some attendees about what they do for dinner. They said that they buy the frozen meals at the store, but they are not good, not nutritious, and several said they were eating cereal for dinner. That was just not ok with us. We both had the same reaction….we have to do something about that! We immediately began the discussion about providing meals to go and how we could make that happen. We had a plan and thanks to The Cornwall Foundation, Inc. and The Cornwall Association that plan has come to fruition. We are eternally grateful to both organizations for believing in us and our program!!!
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
We will now offer 4 entrées and 8 sides for $20. We’ve heard from many of you that freezer space is limited, so this new structure is designed to help you enjoy all your meals before the next distribution.
Moving forward, we’ll be preparing food approximately every three months, which matches the freezer life of the meals we provide.
The order due date, and the pick up date, will be identified in the email you receive announcing that month's menu. (If you cannot pick up your order please try to find someone who can do this for you; if no one can pick up your order please contact Jen and Michelle and they will arrange delivery).
You can order online through the link provided on the Cornwall Association website or if you do not have computer access please call Jen (860–480–0600). Paper copies will also be available to fill out at the Park & Rec Community Lunch, Breakfast or Afternoon Social.
The Cornwall Foundation, Inc. generously awarded a grant to help get the program started and to defray the costs of the meals to participants. The grant allows us to provide meals free of charge to anyone who is a Cornwall Food Pantry client.
For all other Cornwall seniors, the cost is $20 per person for the month’s meals, (4 entrees, 8 side dishes). At pick up, you may pay by cash or check made out to the Cornwall Association or prepay using PayPal.
Links to online ordering and online payment will come to you with the monthly menu.
The seed money from The Cornwall Foundation will only last so long, if you can afford to pay more than $20 for the four meals, please do. Or if you can make a donation to keep this program going, we would be so thankful. Donations for this program can be made to The Cornwall Association (it's tax-deductible to you).
